To be left in a state of suspense, uncertainty, or waiting for something, like a decision or answer, without receiving it.
When asked a question and you don't know the answer, one might reply... "You got me hanging."

Boston Cooler, noun

/Boston Cooler/

Ginger ale and vanilla ice cream blended to create a milkshake. Its origins are in Detroit, and the preferred ginger ale is Vernors.
The summer air was so hot, we stopped for a Boston Cooler at the ice cream stand.
