When a person is hobbled or slowed in some way by an obstacle or other impediment.
Harvey would love to go to the dance, but with the cold and his bum leg he's got a real hitch in his get-along.

rounder, noun

A person who frequents bars and is often drunk or a person who parks in cars against the advice of educational videos of the day.
His mother frowned upon his new girlfriend as she had a reputation as a rounder.

dirty pool, phrase

Refers to shady behavior or dishonest dealings
Changing the Early Bird Special start time without warning was dirty pool in Herbert’s opinion.

An agreement to date exclusively based on the boy presenting the girl with his class pin.
Jamie got pinned by Steve before English class.

What an older person says when something is worthless or meaningless.
This coleslaw is hogwash to my already horrible taste buds.

lollygag, verb

To waste time or procrastinate.
Typically the children lollygag when its time to leave for the dentist office.

black cow, noun

Root beer and vanilla ice cream blended to make a milkshake. A variation on the Boston Cooler.
A black cow at the soda shoppe is the perfect way to end a date.

Boston Cooler, noun

/Boston Cooler/

Ginger ale and vanilla ice cream blended to create a milkshake. Its origins are in Detroit, and the preferred ginger ale is Vernors.
The summer air was so hot, we stopped for a Boston Cooler at the ice cream stand.

An attempt to have intercourse with someone.
After my date with Sandy last night, I tried to put the moves on her. Then her old-man chased me out of the house with a shotgun.

smart as a whip, phrase

A person who is exceedingly intelligent. No one knows why they are compared to a whip. Legend has it, it has something to do with Indiana Jones.
Johnny got an A+ on that test! That lad sure is smart as a whip!

beat a dead horse, phrase

When a topic of conversation is talked about endlessly without any new contribution to the subject at hand.
Now, Jim, I don't want to beat a dead horse, however, let's talk about what to do with the broken ice box.

doughboy, noun

Soldiers found particularly in World War I, however the name originates from the Mexican-American War of 1846. The term lost popularity after World War II due to the acceptance of other terms such as G.I., troop, and dogface.
That doughboy is a fine piece of meat.

Used to tell someone they are guilty of the exact same thing they are pointing out in someone else; hypocritical.
Why did you tell Mary not to be a slut, when you sleep with every guy that moves? That's like the pot calling the kettle black!
